Yaesu FT-2000 Settings

These are the key menu settings for TX Audio that I used to use on the Yaesu FT-2000. I have published them here as a web-based recod for me, but also for the benefit of other licensed amateurs who may be looking for a starting point. The microphones used are the Yaesu MD-200 A8X,  the Yaesu MD-100  (High Emphasis 'On' and Low Cut set to '2') and the Heil Pro Set Plus headset. I use no outboard EQ or other filtering. I would like to thank M0SKA for all his time and patience in the on-air testing which was necessary to arrive at these settings, all of which have attracted unsolicited reports of 'excellent audio.' It should be noted that the setting of Menu 083 differs between audio sources and is dependent on whether you intend to 'ragchew' or for DX. The settings shown in the table are those that I use for 'ragchewing.' For DX, simply change Menu 083 to '4-26' in each case. I very rarely use the processor.

Any menu numbers not assigned here are assumed to be set to the factory default settings, so this list is by no means exhaustive, neither is it intended to be definitive. These are simply the settings which work for me. If you find these settings useful, please do sign my guestbook to let me know and to share experiences.

The menu numbers given here are those in the FT-2000 following the PEP upgrade. If you wish to use these settings and your radio has not had the PEP upgrade, you will need to 'minus two' from each of these menu numbers (ie Menu '125' here is menu '123' pre PEP).
